Thermodynamic Steam Trap → A steam trap operated by the internal energy of steam. It utilizes the difference in kinetic energy between high-velocity steam and slower-moving condensate to move the internal disc according to Bernoulli’s Law. The condensate lifts the disc and is discharged, while the presence of steam creates a low-pressure area beneath the disc, drawing it toward the seat to close the discharge orifice.
